Funny moments with kids in the chair

I had a hilarious moment yesterday when a little one asked if the dental chair could take them to the moon… I said only if they promised to brush their teeth on the way! It’s such a joy to see them so imaginative; it definitely lightens up the often scary experience of visiting the dentist.

Kids really do have the wildest imaginations! I once had a little girl start giggling because I told her the suction tool was like a mini spaceship. It definitely lightened the mood; it’s amazing how something simple can make such a difference.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌

But i remember a kid once asked me if I had a slide in the dental office. I told them I was saving it for the next dental floss race! It’s wild how their imagination turns a simple appointment into an adventure. Keeps things fun, right?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

You’re right, it’s amazing how creative their minds can be! Just the other day, a kid was convinced the dental mirror was a magic wand. I had to play along and told him it could turn cavities into gummy bears if he brushed properly.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

I once had a kid ask if the dental light was a spaceship control panel! I played along and said it was ready for takeoff — just needed them to buckle up. It’s such a fun way to ease their nerves; imagination really makes a difference.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

And i get that! Just yesterday, a kid thought the suction tool was a vacuum for his teeth. I had to tell him it was a powerful tooth fairy assistant.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

I love those creative moments! Just last week, a little girl thought the dental chair was a roller coaster — I had to remind her that no matter the ride, brushing is always a must! It’s wonderful to see them thinking outside the box.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

Those moments are priceless! I once had a kid ask if they’d get a prize for being brave, so I told them they could pick a sticker from my special space collection after their appointment. It’s amazing how a little incentive can shift the mood — just don’t forget to let them pick their own! :tada:.
